Meeting at the Scottish Association for Marine Science marks the end of research projects
A meeting at the Scottish Association for Marine Science in Oban has marked the end of research projects that created a collaboration to ensure NewDepomod, a particle-tracking software, remains at the cutting edge of modelling for environmental regulation of Scottish finfish farming.
The ExPAND project and the follow-up ExPAND 2 have been impactful research projects over the past six years, bringing together researchers, model developers, industry representatives, regulators and funders in aquaculture.
The collaboration with Salmon Scotland and University of Dundee, funded with the support of Sustainable Aquaculture Innovation Centre, aided the development of NewDEPOMOD that is now used by regulators in the UK to predict the dispersion of fish farm waste.
